JANE ADDAMS RECREATION TRAIL CLOSED DURING FIREARM DEER HUNTING Freeport, Illinois.....The Jane Addams Trail Commission has announced that the entire Jane Addams Recreation Trail will be closed to all users during the state-designated 2007/2008 firearm deer hunting weekends: November 16, 17, and 18; November 29, 30, December 1, and 2; and January 18, 19, and 20. Although hunting is not permitted on the Trail, this closing assures the protection of trail users along this heavily hunted corridor.

Hunters are not allowed to hunt on, or shoot across, the trail right-of-way, or to use the trail as an access to hunting areas. Hunters are allowed to cross the trail, and to retrieve game that has fallen on the trail right-of-way.
